English Ministry

A brief explanation of the ministry's purpose and activities.

The purpose of the International Evangelical Baptist Church Caldas da Rainha is to provide an English-speaking Evangelical Christian community and church service. We regularly hold English-speaking church services on most Sundays, as well as small groups during the week. Community events are planned throughout the year. We had our first English service on 08 January 2023. The goal is to provide local English-speakers with an evangelical Christian community in which one can attend services, worship God, fellowship, and study the Bible, all in a language that is comfortable and accessible to them. The goal is also to reach non-Christian English-speaking people and introduce them to the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and to baptize and disciple them as commanded in the Bible. Overall, the ministry seeks to lift up Jesus so that the world might believe (John 3:14-15 and John 12:32). The ministry desires to come alongside people in their journey with God, so as they are saved in Christ and become strong in Christ, they can serve Christ and share Him with others.

We believe that each and every person is valuable to God and loved by Him. While the world often tries to define how our value is measured, Jesus came to completely change the game. Through His sacrifice, He showed that we were worth His very life. Through Him, we are set free from our sins and given a new hope and a new purpose. And now, God has called each of us to tell others about the good news of Jesus Christ and simply to share our own story of transformation. As we love and serve others, we are better able to reach one person for Christ. Through one person, we can reach a family. By reaching a family, we can reach a city. And by reaching a city, we can reach our nation. By reaching our nation, we can then impact the world.
